Hearthstone Winter Group Stage week 1 recap
Week 1 of the ESL Benelux Hearthstone Championship has come to an end and before we head into week 2 we look back at all the action that happened.

In the first match of the evening Sector One’s lbdutchboy took on RUZ3.Gaming's Near.

Lbdutchboy started of strong, with a Hunter win. The second game was really close, as the Druid mirror match-up went back and forth. In the end lbdutchboy was able to secure the win. His Warrior also proved to be too much for Near, as lbdutchboy grabbed his first win of the group stage 3-0.

Next up were Sector One. Arneej and Narra with an hour long series. Arneej was able to grab the win in game 1, but after that it went downhill for him. Narra was first able to equalize the score with his Warrior, after which he also grabbed wins with his Hunter and Druid against the Warlock from Arneej, resulting in a 3-1 for Narra.

The third game of the evening was mCon.maDe vs RUZ3 Sjoesie. Our reigning champion maDe fell behind in the match, as his Ragnaros didn't hit the 50/50, resulting in a 0-1 deficit. Sjoesie also won game 2, after which maDe was able to win the Shaman mirror match up, bringing the score to 2-1 for Sjoesie. maDe swapped back to his Warrior, but the deck would prove fatal to him, as it lost the final game as well, bringing Sjoesie the win 3-1.

The last game of the day was an ECVisualize in-house match as ratje2000 faced off against d3n0r. Throughout the match, d3n0r would prove to be quite the RNG player, topdecking his way into a win in not just game 1, but also game 2! In game 3 d3n0r was able to out sustain ratje2000, grabbing lethal with a topdecked Grommash, netting him a 3-0 victory.
