We would like to announce further adjustments to the relegation process of Pro League. Teams who are relegated from a season of Pro League will be dropped down to the next connected season of ESEA Mountain Dew League and, as such, will not be required to play in any unconnected season. The ESL Pro League has two seasons throughout the year, while the ESEA League competes in three seasons for all aspiring teams.
Policy Change:
At the conclusion of a Pro League season that feeds into an unconnected season of the ESEA Mountain Dew League, teams will now instead drop down into the first season that does qualify back into Pro League. All teams who are relegated will still be required to follow the ESEA League roster rules as soon as they are relegated. If a team chooses to and can meet schedule requirements, they may participate in the unconnected season of ESEA MDL, also known as the MDL Training Season, but said unconnected season will have no direct move-up to the ESL Pro League.
The following teams will be relegated into ESEA MDL Season 26 with the option to join Training Season 25:
- Kinguin
- Virtus Pro
- Foundation
- RUSH
With the busy CS:GO schedule and events already announced throughout the summer, including the upcoming Valve Major, we feel it is best to allow teams to compete in their already planned events and then participate in the following season of ESEA MDL, which includes the opportunity to get promoted to the ESL Pro League. All teams who are relegated will still be required to re-qualify for the ESL Pro League through the ESEA MDL as the exclusive path to the ESL Pro League.
