Teams fight for the coveted slots in the ESL Pro League - get ready for the relegation matches!

The regular online matches of season 5 of the ESL Pro League have concluded last week with the best 12 teams from both the European and North American divisions securing a slot in the season finals taking place in Dallas, Texas. The teams who will compete for the lion's share of the US$1,000,000 prize pool will be:

Europe

  • Natus Vincere
  • Team ENVYUS

North America

  • SK Gaming
  • Team Liquid
  • Immortals
  • NRG Esports
  • Cloud9
  • OpTic Gaming


Leaving the ESL Pro League for season 6 will be Team Kinguin from the EU division and Animal Squad from NA who placed last after the online portion of season 5. At the same time, we welcome GODSENT and Splyce who placed first in the ESEA Premier division and automatically qualified for season 6 of the ESL Pro League.

Relegation matches


While the top teams will travel to Dallas to compete for the season 5 championship, the bottom teams will fight for their survival in the ESL Pro League. Teams who placed 12th and 13th in both divisions will face the 2nd and 3rd teams from the ESEA Premier division in a four-team double elimination tournament with all matches being best of three.

Europe


Tuesday, May 16th

  • 18:00 CEST - HellRaisers vs. PENTA
  • 21:00 CEST - Virtus.pro vs. BIG


Wednesday, May 17th

  • 18:00 CEST - elimination match
  • 21:00 CEST - winners' match


Thursday, May 18th

  • 16:00 CEST - decider match

North America


Tuesday, May 16th

  • 18:00 EDT - Rush vs. Ghost Gaming
  • 21:00 EDT - The Foundation vs. Enigma6


Wednesday, May 17th

  • 18:00 EDT - elimination match
  • 21:00 EDT - winners' match


Thursday, May 18th

  • 19:00 EDT - decider match

Out of all the competing teams, Virtus.pro will be the one to watch. The Polish legends consistently finish in the top 8 at majors but are notorious for their subpar performance in online matches. Will they manage to defend their place in the ESL Pro League and have a chance to redeem themselves in season 6?
