All information on the ESL One Frankfurt 2015 format and more!

ESL One Frankfurt 2015 is only 30 days away! While we're currently working hard to ensure that everything is ready for the biggest Dota 2 event in Europe, we would like to let you know about the format of the tournament will work.

Seeding matches

The biggest change to the format of ESL One Frankfurt 2015, in comparison to last year, comes with the ESL One Frankfurt 2015 seeding matches. On June 18th the eight teams qualified for ESL One Frankfurt 2015 will play it out against each other to determine their seeding for the main event.

No teams will be eliminated during the seeding matches. Single elimination tournaments provide a different set of challenges for teams and setting the "right" match-ups is very important. Performing well in the seeding matches can potentially grant a team a less difficult matchup in the first day of the tournament. The seeds will be decided by the following bracket:

The initial sorting in the seeding matches will be based off the teams JoinDota Ranking 2 weeks before the seeding matches take place - June 4th. All seeding matches will be Bo1. After completion of the seeding matches, the top 3 seeds will selected their opponent from the teams seeded 5 through 8. Seed 4 will face off against the unpicked team. The team seeded first will receive the first option to pick, the second team second, third team third.

Teams will select their opponents for Saturdays matches in Frankfurt, live from the ESL Studios in Cologne, Germany!

All seeding matches as well as main event matches will be viewable through the DotaTV ESL One Event ticket which will be available for $1.99. Online coverage will be provided on selected matches from the ESL Studios, with other matches streamed by selected streaming partners and community streamers.
