In the first 3 weeks of the 2020 ESL Benelux Championship Winter CSGO, GameFist forfeited two of their matches. The forfeited matches are GameFist vs Join the Force in Week 1 and GameFist vs Amsterdam Kings in week 3.

Section §3.17.3 of the ESL Benelux Championship rulebook states:“If a participant is not ready to play until 20 minutes after the scheduled start of the match, or 20 minutes after the previous match during the group stage (when played back-to-back), it is considered a no show. In that case, the opponent will receive a default win from the administration. In case of a no-show the team is punished with one (1) major penalty point.”

Through this rule, GameFist has acquired 2 major penalty points, which means we have to apply section § of the ESL Benelux Championship rulebook:
“When a team or player has reached a total of two (2) major penalty points, the team will be disqualified from further participation in the ESL Benelux Championship and the license will be withdrawn. Ten (10) minor penalty points are equal to one (1) major penalty point.“

This means that GameFist have been disqualified from the 2020 ESL Benelux Championship Winter Season. Their matches have been deleted.

As a result of these events, we have decided to make a change in the rulebook.
Section §3.16.1 has been edited to the following:
If a participant leaves, or is disqualified from (see, the ESL Benelux Championship during any of the stages, the participant forfeits all prize money from the season. Next to that, the organisation and all players on the license sheet will be banned from the upcoming season of the ESL Benelux Championship.“

Note: This rule change will not be applied to GameFist, but will be applied in the future.
