Devmarta Previews the Rainbow 6 Pro League Season 8 APAC Finals

Eight of APAC’s best head to Japan

After 13 action-packed play days of Rainbow Six, the APAC Pro League Playoffs for Season 8 have come to a close, but for the 8 top teams in the region, the battle has only just begun.

For two days, starting on Saturday October 13th, the best 2 teams from each sub region (Australia-New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia) will clash at the Belle Salle Akihabara in Tokyo, Japan, during the biggest APAC Finals yet.

With the home crowd on their side, NORA-Rengo and Sengoku Gaming Extasy will be aiming to make their local fans proud. Both having attended the Season 7 APAC Finals, these teams are no strangers to LAN events. NORA-Rengo are looking like the team to beat coming into the Season 8 Finals, with their recent strong performances at both the Season 7 Pro League Finals in Atlantic City and at the Six Major Paris.

Japan’s neighbours are the Korean teams MantisFPS and New Life, both returning combatants to the APAC Finals. Having earned their place among APAC’s finest many times before, MantisFPS have their eyes set on the win.

The Singaporeans Aerowolf and the underdogs from Thailand, Xavier, will represent South-East Asia in Japan. Xavier are a complete unknown quantity, and it’s possible we’ll see this team upset even the most established of those in the region.

Over the pond from the ANZ region, FNATIC are the hot favourites, having showed some impressive individual plays at the Six Major Paris and a strong performance in the regular season. Athletico are also a team to keep an eye on, as they’ll have their eyes on the prize, and the most experience against FNATIC after the regular season.

The top two teams from the Season 8 APAC Finals will win themselves a ticket to the global Pro League finals in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, representing APAC against the most accomplished Rainbow 6 Siege teams worldwide.

Every match will be a battle for survival, every team wants to claim the winning title, but only one can be the victor of the biggest APAC Finals yet. Watch the APAC finals live on the 13th & 14th of October on the following channels:
