A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS - ESL SEC GRAND FINALS

A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS - ESL SEC GRAND FINALS

This is it! The eighth season of ESL Southeast European Championship has its new Champions: Windigo Gaming. Despite the fact that Windigo were considered heavy favorites, Bpro Gaming did everything in their power, fought really hard, putted some extra pressure on their opponents but Windigo were ready, thirsty for glory and had the momentum. A recipe for success.

A VERY CLOSE AFFAIR

Bpro knew that they had to deliver at the first map, a map that they had positive results against Windigo in the past. Their early aggression has been answered on many occasions. After 10 rounds, the scoreboard was tied up, as a result of intense and close fighting between both teams.

Going deeper into the game, Windigo managed to secure a slight advantage, forcing their opponents into a more reactive position. This position was really difficult for Bpro to overcome, but they were not ready to give up yet, putting up a show and almost tying up the map.

Nevertheless, Windigo, capitalizing on their advanced economical state, compared to their opponents, were able to avoid a breathtaking finale, securing map #1 16-12.

A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APPROACH

Completely different teams, compared to map 1, entered the battlefield on Dust_2. Bpro were off to a really good start, with 5 out of 5 rounds. They were in full control of the game and kept extending their lead against Windigo, who seemed lost and unable to follow their pace.

With Bpro being on set point, the “purples” were looking for a miracle. They managed to close the gap and made a lot of the viewers believe that they might be able to turn things around.

The former Champions had a different opinion; they secured that most needed last round (16-10) and tied up the series 1-1.

ALL ON THE LINE FOR THE TROPHY

All came down to Mirage and both teams came into map #3 ready to fight for glory. Windigo were able to secure 4 out of 5 first rounds, countering the – kind of rushing – strategy that Bpro used at the beginning, with their own. Once Bpro adapted, they bounced back and closed the gap.

A tactical timeout was all that Windigo Gaming needed to reset their game. From this point onwards they were able to choke Bpro, using great communication and guarding at both bomb sites, forming a 12-3 scoreboard.

Switching had a temporarily good impact on Bpro since they managed to secure a few rounds and get closer to their opponents. However, Windigo Gaming were in full control of the map. They were able to secure two more rounds and lift the ESL SEC trophy high into the sky of Bucharest.

They are now your new Champions; Windigo Gaming.
