THE IDEAS BEHIND THE NAME
This Russian multi-gaming esports organization has already a pretty long, competitive history. The idea was formed a long time ago and came to life, in the summer of 2012. After a while, Vega Squadron, located in Moscow, became a strong organization, well-known for their Starcraft II team, and developed to a “home” for numerous esports athletes, both locals and non-locals of the region. In late 2018, Vega has squads in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG, FIFA and League of Legends.
FIGHT IN EVERY SITUATION
Tenacity and durability are two key ingredients that solidify the philosophy of this team. Their mindset is always focused on constant improvement of their gameplay levels, strategic tactics, and individual skill. CS:GO squad’s, in particular, communication levels are higher than the average, and combining that with players that continuously prove their worth in every single battle they give, they identify as a team that is both capable to inflict serious damage and really hard to disarm.
Being an active organization since 2012, Vega Squadron has a lot of achievements to present and speak up to the name. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team was able to win their first Minor tournament on May of 2015 (Uprise Champions Cup Season 2). Since then, they fought hard, fallen and got back to their feet again more than once, creating their own legacy at the stage.
“THE RUSSIAN WINTER IS HERE”
2017 and 2018 have been two really active years for them, including numerous first places in 2017, such as CIS Minor Championship – Krakow 2017, China Top 2017 – Shenzhen and China Top 2017 – Kunshan and the participation at PGL Major Krakow 2017 group stage. However, in 2018, Vega Squadron have yet to secure a most wanted first place, with their primary achievements being so far a second place at Premier StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 6 and of course their participation at the Group Stage of both FACEIT Major 2018 and ELEAGUE Major 2018.
IN QUEST FOR GLORY
In the recent past, Vega managed to peak at #13 of the Global Rankings and stay at that position for a weak, according to hltv.org. They are currently standing at the 20th seat of the Rankings, with a 51,85% winrate and a 1.01 K/D ratio. Their ability to recover and adjust to the enemy’s playstyle, their tenacity, alongside their great communication and skill, make this team a constant danger to every team that might be complacent for even a while.
