In Season 3 of the Swisscom Hero League, our League of Legends tournament will undergo some changes that streamline the competition from Open Qualifier to the Grand Finals in 4 weeks, in order to align with new regulations coming from Riot Games. In addition to the new compact schedule, Season 3 will also give teams from our previous 1st and 2nd Divisions and the best teams from the Open Qualifier an equal chance to enter the Grand Finals and compete for the CHF 5’000.00 pot.

Phase 1: Open Qualifier

On the 6th of April, new challengers can enter the Swisscom Hero League and take part in the Open Qualifier for a chance to secure a spot in Phase 2. Our admins are currently investigating which teams from Season 2 meet the criteria to keep their spots. Depending on the outcome of this investigation, the amount of available spots for new teams may vary.

Phase 2: 16-team single elimination bracket

During 4 days, on the 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th of April, teams that previously played in the 1st and 2nd Division of Season 2 will enter an offstream 16-team single elimination bracket, alongside the winners of the Open Qualifier. The top 8 of Phase 2 will progress to Phase 3 - the Playoffs. Teams that do not make it into the Playoffs will be out of the Swisscom Hero League competition, as there will no longer be a 2nd Division to compete in

Phase 3: The Playoffs

From the 16th to the 21st of April, 8 teams will compete in the Quarterfinals, which will feature Best-of-3 matches streamed on twitch.tv/eslswiss, followed by the live online Semifinals on the 23rd and 24th of April. The best 2 teams will then face each other in the offline Grand Finals in May, where the new Swisscom Hero League Champion will be crowned.
