Today we have a new and exciting partner coming on board for ESL Pro Tour Warcraft III. Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, will be the Official Crypto Exchange Partner of the ESL Pro Tour Warcraft® III.
With the recent grand finish of our season of DreamHack WC3 Open: Summer we are going to kick the ESL Pro Tour into high gear for our fall season. With Warcraft III our main focus has always been the future and how we can ensure we are providing stability to the community and ecosystem for players to compete. Coinbase themselves are forward-thinking with their next generation crypto market that helps us look into the future and how we can continue to work together to educate our fans on the next generation of exchanges and work together for the benefit of Warcraft community members and competitors.
One of our goals with this year’s ESL Pro Tour Warcraft III is to find the right time to return to in person competition and let us truly have all three regions in one place to crown our champion. Now with the support of Coinbase we’ve set up a roadmap in which we believe this to be a very realistic outcome.
Late last year we announced our full season plans, which included a finals in person that will have our top players from all three of our regions, Asia, Europe, and Americas come together to compete. We still have this plan and thanks to Coinbase are firm in our commitment to allow players to travel and compete if local governments allow and player safety can be confirmed. We will only do this if players from all regions can feasibly leave their homes to come abroad, whether that be in a place with a live audience or is instead in a studio we aim to realize our hopes to bring players together once more to compete on equal footing, the first time all regions would be in one room since DreamHack Anaheim inFebruary of 2020.
Continuing in mid July, the ESL Pro Tour Warcraft III tour still has three events to go, concluding with our Championship in December. In addition to our ESL Open Cups each week, there are two more DreamHack WC3 Open tournaments that lead into the Championship in December. We have something for players of all levels so come and join us and enjoy the season with us and Coinbase.
