About Covid-19 responsibility
In an ideal world we would certainly have all our events proceed on LAN, however, we have a responsibility to the players, fans, ourselves and all involved to prioritize the safety of everyone. We will monitor the situation and keep you updated on any necessary changes to our events.

our vision for CS:GO in 2021

BETTER FOR PLAYERS,  BETTER FOR FANS.

In 2021 we wish to enhance our shows and the key to this is better storytelling. The new format for ESL Pro Tour events will help shape our vision for the future of Counter-Strike. Starting with Intel® Extreme Masters Katowice 2021, all of our 8 ESL Pro Tour Masters and Masters Championship tournaments will be held over the course of two back-to-back weekends, with the group stage being played from our new ESL Pro Tour CS:GO Studio. The second weekend will as usual take place in some of the most prestigious stadiums across the world.

What exactly does that mean? For the players this will mean a lower density of matches and will allow them more time to better prepare for their opponents and tournaments. At the same time it means less time spent away from home. For our tournaments it means we will now have much more time to be able to create premium content, tactical analysis, hype trailers and really focus on the storylines of Counter-Strike. This is a great step for both the players, the fans and will enable us to deliver the best viewing experience we can.

1

Less travel and more
preparation time for teams.

2

Put the group stage and
finals into prime time.

3

Deliver the best viewing
experience for fans.

Better for the players and fans
By extending our events to two-weekends and in conjunction with reducing the amount of tournaments we hold in 2021 to 8, the CS:GO landscape will be less saturated.
An enhanced viewing experience
With our new strategic approach in 2021, during our events there will be more time for us to spend with the players and talent so that we can deliver the most exciting content and viewing experience possible.
Less travel and higher quality Counter-Strike
Teams will now travel less under our new format, meaning that player burnout will lessen and the competitive landscape of Counter-Strike will improve due to teams having more time to practice.

A studio designed for Counter-Strike

Welcome to the new home of Counter-Strike, welcome to our brand new ESL Pro Tour Studio! In 2021 we are taking yours, ours and the player’s experience to the maximum level with a studio designed for CS:GO. It will feature all of the latest Intel technology along with 240Hz monitors, height adjustable tables, anti-flash smart glass, rotating players booths and more - this studio will have it all and we are building it right now, while also following the highest possible COVID-19 safety measures.

"Planning ahead is key for all players and teams. Knowing the dates of all tournaments is very positive, and it helps us to better prepare for events. Less travel activity gives us more time to focus on the games and our upcoming opponents."
