ESL announces US$50,000 per season league system for CS:GO

After hosting two ESL One events this year, which were the most successful and record-breaking CS:GO events worldwide to date, we are pleased to announce that we have decided to invest even more into the CS:GO community and start a new league system within ESL in Europe. This new league system will happen in addition to ESL One events, which will continue in 2015.

ESL Pro League

The ESL Pro League will be the highest league in this system and will feature sixteen of the best teams from all over Europe. With offline finals and US$48,000 up for grabs, the ESL Pro League will see the highest level of competition and also the highest reward.
Eight teams will be invited to the new ESL Pro League, with these set to be revealed within the next two weeks. The other eight slots will be up for grabs through several qualifiers.

ESL Fantasy & betting

Community members will also be able to participate in our ESL Fantasy league, allowing you to not only watch fantastic CS:GO matches but compare your knowledge of the scene against others’. Build your own team, earn points based on players’ performances and have a chance at winning some amazing prizes. We’ll also offer a simpler system for betting on matches throughout the whole ESL Pro League season, with prizes also awarded to the top predictors there.

ESL Major League

The ESL Major League will be positioned directly below the ESL Pro League and offers a US$2,000 prize pool to its participants. A total of 32 teams will be able to qualify for the ESL Major League through several qualifiers. At the end of the season, the best teams from the league will make it into the ESL Pro League. You can find an overview of the qualification on the ESL Major League portal as well as a full system overview.

ESL Open League

The ESL Open League will be open to each and every CS:GO team - all you need to participate is sign up and play. Get your competitive career started and build up a reputation for you and your team through a season of group stages and playoffs. The best teams from our ESL Open League will make it into the ESL Major League at the end of the season. You can sign up for the league at the ESL Open portal as well as find more information on how the system works.

Thank you community & ESL Skin Collection 2014

We would like to give a big thank you to the entire CS:GO community, which has massively supported ESL in the past and will hopefully continue to support us in the future. ESL was able to create this league system as a direct result of your support thanks to the revenue generated through sticker sales from our past two ESL One events in Katowice and Cologne. We are looking forward to supporting the league further with our ESL weapon skins, currently up for voting in the CS:GO Workshop. The potential revenue created by these would be invested straight back into the league system to further support prize money, travel, finals and production.
