The first season of the ESL ESEA Pro League features the twelve best teams in North America and Europe. To ensure that the two divisions feature the strongest teams, we'd like to shed some light on how teams can make their way into the most prestigious Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league.
Of the twelve teams participating in each Division, the top nine ranked teams in the league at the end of the season ensure their participation in the next, with the top 4 heading to the season finals. The lowest ranked team (12th) is automatically demoted to the ESL ESEA Premier Division.
Teams ranked 10th and 11th will have to fight it out against the teams ranked 2nd and 3rd in the Premier Division in relegation matches to decide who makes it to the next season of the ESL ESEA Pro League. More details on the format of this single match will be released in the upcoming weeks.
The top team in the ESL ESEA Premier Division will automatically be promoted to the ESL ESEA Pro League.
Meanwhile, the bottom ranks of the Premier Division - ranks 14 to 17 - will be automatically demoted to the ESEA Main or ESL Major League (depending on the regions), of which the top two teams in each will take their spot.
Who do you think will be promoted and demoted from their respective leagues?
