EPT CS:GO MARCH UPDATE

If you are reading this for the first time, this is our EPT CS:GO monthly update. We’ll go over the last month summarizing what took place, while also sharing behind the scenes insight into what we are currently working on or hints towards upcoming plans.

ESL World Ranking Update & ESL Pro Tour Standing
  • The ESL WR measures performance across all competitions (rules here)
    • Used for the majority of invitations issued to teams for EPT Masters & Challenger competitions

  • The EPT Standing strictly measures performance inside the EPT & CS:GO Majors
    • The primary form of invitation into either IEM Katowice or ESL One Cologne.

All data above from April 1st, 2021

We are currently reworking the ESL WR in order to solve a known imbalance of point distribution stemming from regional competitions. We will be looking to update the ESL WR in the coming weeks.

Your team can start gaining ESL WR points by competing in ESEA Cash Cups, DreamHack & ESL qualifiers on ESEA. For all the latest rankings together with a full breakdown of rules & points - please see here.

ESL Pro League: Season 13

As the tournament nears its conclusion this weekend, over the last four weeks of competition we’ve introduced many new features. Our focus was on levelling up how dynamic the show felt and improving on our engagement with players and teams:

    • Usage of team voice comms
    • Usage of roaming cameras inside team bootcamps

We also introduced our first workshop map in the form of the ‘1xBet Arena’. It’s a fun map! You can test your aim out against your friends in the aim - Subscribe here.

Enjoy this weekend's broadcast!

DreamHack Masters Spring

The groups will be drawn April 12th and made public shortly after. While EPL is still in action, our team is already preparing trailers, video content, the unique direction we want the broadcast to head in comparison to IEM and EPL while also implementing all the learnings we’ve taken in the last months.

This tournament will also be broadcast primarily on twitch.tv/eslcsgo. We are looking to consolidate our streaming experience, EPT Masters CS:GO, one destination.

ESL One Cologne

We’ve almost fully completed our evaluation and planning and will be looking to communicate the latest news in the next week.

IEM Summer, Fall & Winter

IEM Summer Open Qualifiers take place across Apr 8-9 and 19-20 with the Closed Qualifiers across Apr 26-28. We will be announcing all tournament invites next week!

    • All details on IEM Summer qualification can be found here

The known date clash between IEM Fall and the CS:GO Major will be resolved and also made public next week.

DreamHack Open

Throughout 2021, we’ve planned 7x competitions. DHO43 & DHO44 have already completed with the latter seeing Extra Salt & Imperial Esports claim victory and advance to IEM Summer 2021 (all DH Open competitions provide advancement to the subsequent EPT Masters competition).

ESEA Premier

The ESEA Premier Playoffs are just around the corner with the teams ready to face off for their chance to get into ESL Pro League Season 14. The matches start on April 13th and you can stay up to date with the schedule and standings on the Premier Website.

Last week, an article showcased a recording of current Premier players discussing fixing their match. These players have been suspended and will not be participating in the playoffs. We are working closely with ESIC to investigate the situation and will be following any recommendations for punishment based on their report.

Additionally:

    • Extra Salt has travelled to Europe therefore will not compete in the Playoffs. They will be replaced and the bracket will be redrawn.
    • Join the ESL Pro Tour and sign-up for the next ESEA League - all details here. Sign-ups will close April 26th.

National Championships

All local competitions are in progress and nearing completion as they search for the best national teams. As introduced earlier this year, we’ve launched a new product called the ‘National Championship Global Playoff’ where the best teams from all national competitions come together to compete in a final tournament which will advance them deeper within the EPT structure.

Taking place across May 25-30, teams will be compete for the following:

    • 1st place: ESL One Cologne Play-in (Top 24)
    • 2nd place: IEM Summer Group Stages

In addition to the above, like in 2020, our favourite German National Championship winner will also qualify for the ESL One Cologne Play-in as the local representative.
