As a precautionary measure ahead of the European portion of Intel® Extreme Masters Road to Rio due to the ever changing dynamics of global travel, we’ll be conducting replacement matches this week.

We’d like to underline immediately that no teams participating in IEM Road to Rio have been replaced at this time. We have two first in line replacement teams with Illuminar Gaming and Forward, therefore measures being taken are only in the event that additional replacement teams are required.

In order to determine a replacement order, we’ll be reaching out to the eight teams who lost in RO16 in the 4th European qualifier about participating. Once teams for the replacement matches have been confirmed we’ll be announcing more details.  

Should any replacements be necessary, all replacements will be made 1:1 and no reseeding will be taking place, as per our replacement rules.
