With the departure of the DPC, the Dota 2 ecosystem has evolved into a third-party ecosystem, which we are grateful to contribute to. However, this also means that teams have lost some of the avenues for direct monetization that they once had available to them.
In this post we want to share with you some changes to how prize money will be allocated in future tournaments, updates to our schedule for ESL One Raleigh and DreamLeague Season 26, as well as the new dates for DreamLeague Season 26 and 27.
We believe that the changes we're making today will be good in the long term for Dota, and will create a healthier ecosystem for Clubs, Players and Fans.
Why are we making changes?
We believe that players can achieve their highest potential when supported by both passionate fans and well-organized club support structures. To support the development of this environment, we are implementing a system designed to benefit both clubs and players.
The Total Winnings of each of our yearly EPT events will now include two Prize categories: Player Prize Money and Club Reward.
Along with division of Prize Money into these two categories, we have also re-balanced how our event Prize Pools are distributed across placements, to create more stability for teams and stacks that qualify to our events, and to encourage more players to pursue their dream of reaching the best level in Dota that they can with less financial strain and better support.
With qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 25 and ESL One Raleigh all wrapped up, we're super excited to watch some amazing Dota with you this year, and we can't wait to see who will qualify for the Esports World Cup this Summer!

FAQs
The next three events in the Dota 2 ESL Pro Tour (DreamLeague Season 25, ESL One Raleigh, and DreamLeague Season 26) will include the new Prize Money and Club Reward split.
Once those events are completed, there will be a review based on feedback received to ensure we're moving in the right direction.
For any stacks that are competing in our events without an organisation, they would receive the Total Winnings to divide amongst themselves.
Ultimately, this is up to you as our community to decide.
Our goal has always been, and remains, to deliver world class Dota games featuring the best teams in the world, and we strongly believe that this new system offers the best chance to achieve this.
