Product Updates: EPT Masters & Championships

ESL Pro League S14

We are currently LIVE, tune in HERE to the ongoing broadcasts.

After winning IEM Cologne, NAVI is in a position to tie up the Intel Grand Slam should they win this season. They have eligible wins from IEM Katowice 2020, DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 and IEM Cologne 2021 (all details HERE). Should they top EPL, then they’ll be only the third team to do so in history - in the footsteps of Astralis and Team Liquid - this would pocket them the $1,000,000 and mark their era in CS:GO history.

IEM Fall

As recently announced (all details HERE).

IEM Fall will take place as the final RMR for the second half of 2021. All 6 regions will compete in the last opportunity to qualify for the Valve CS:GO Major later this year. Due to the current situation and ongoing restrictions due to COVID-19, we will not be able to gather teams on LAN in all regions. European teams will meet at LAN, where as CIS, North America, South America, Asia and Oceania will be played fully online within the respective regions.

While the tournament will not contribute towards the Intel Grand Slam, this tournament will provide EPT points which will lead towards the team's qualification for the next EPT Masters Championship at IEM Katowice in 2022.

With the changes of IEM Fall gaining RMR status, we’ve created further changes to our calendar to accommodate qualifiers and the main event, primarily to the Challenger tier and DreamHack Open. Read more about these updates below.

IEM Winter

Hoping to build on IEM Fall, IEM Winter is also planned to take place on LAN. It will be the final competition of the 2021 calendar and the last remaining EPT Masters event ahead of IEM Katowice 2022.

The tournament will take place between Dec 2 - 12, gathering 16 teams for a $250,000 prize purse and eligible for Intel Grand Slam which some teams are still in a good position to tie up before New Years.

Important note: With the change to the status of #IEM Fall to the final RMR competition, teams that qualified via DHO45 will be invited to the TBA Q4 EPT competition later this year, more news to come.

Rationale behind these updates:

  • DHO48 and DHO49 were planned as offline competitions that will no longer take place.
  • The CS:GO calendar in Q3 & Q4 is overwhelmed which causes challenges to plan online qualification and tournaments.
  • We will revamp the overarching EPT structure, which will see the DHO49 weekend occupied with a new TBA Q4 tournament. More news soon.
